gearboxrecords huge announcement: The legendary South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim (aka Dollar Brand) has signed to Gearbox. Abdullah has been making music since the 40s, and has collaborated with the likes of Duke Ellington, Don Cherry, and Archie Shepp. A prolific composer, his famous composition ‘Mannenberg’ has become associated with the anti-apartheid movement in SA.
